March 18, 2018 - Fly to Georgetown for Breakfast

A week after breakfast at Cape May, we decided to try Ocean City, Maryland.   Here Tom (Maule) and Chuck (Socata) ready to taxi out.

Chuck needed gas, so we stopped at Ridgely Airport.  But Ridgely had no gas.  So we decided to go to nearby Delaware Coastal Airport (the airport formerly known as Georgetown, or was it Suffolk?).

Actually, Chuck's plane is a Socata TB 9 Tampico.  Socata is a French aircraft manufacturing company.

I taxied by this plane that looks like a Republic SeaBee.  Actually, it is a Spencer Aircar, a wood homebuilt that was designed by the SeaBee designer.   Every time I see it, it's in worse shape.  It looks
like the entire empennage has broken off.

Mugsy joined us in flight and landed with us at Georgetown.

After a nice breakfast, Bruce & Tom discuss which aviation oil is the best, or something of similar import.

Finishing their discussion, they head on out.

Chuck and Ron wait patiently in the Socata.

Mugsy and I continued east to the coast.

Heading south down the beach.

A big blob of white birds low over the ocean.

The beaches were pretty much empty this early in the year.

Passing by the Ocean City boardwalk.  I have't been in a few years.

The beaches are really empty south of Ocean City.

Wild horses couldn't drag me away!

Heading inland.

Flying over Salisbury Airport which has a control tower.  I've never landed here in the RV.  I did once in the Citabria, just to say I did.

An abandoned golf course on the eastern shore, east of Kent Narrows.

A grass strip we used to have our EAA Chapter picnic at.

Waterfront mansion.

Heading west for home across the bay.
